New Wikipedia features, a short review

Recently Wikipedia has implemented few new features, and we love it. Just that perhaps the Search box should not be on top because:

The location of the Search box has been dragged up to the top which we found somewhat irritating and annoying. Top right? We believe it is not at the right place. It was fine when it is being put on the left where the eyes can easily trace back, but from the above screen shots, see how much “distraction” that was introduced before finding the Search box in Wikipedia.

They got it right on mobile version of the web (Pictur above, from iPhone)

Initially, we are hoping for a top centre and distinctive Search box, because the main idea when people dive into encyclopediaWikipedia — is to search for a knowledge. And using the printed, people usually use the Glossary, in this case, the Search box. If the quest for knowledge is full of resistance, then will it be useful or hurtful?

Or, perhaps a shortcut button that would take the user straight up to the Search box. But still, how many will know and use the shortcut button?
