Last weekend, I went to Manchester to visit my friend or better known to me as my design sifu, Din. He has been working in the design industry since 1997 and until now he is still pushing the limits. If you have seen any cool websites and graphic design back in Malaysia or in the UK, he might be the man behind it.
He has worked with high profile companies such as American Express, HP, Toyota, Sony Ericsson, Sony, BMW, British Telecom (BT), Citibank, Nissan, Petronas, Malaysian Airlines and more. And I started to realize how far I am in order to reach my own goal as a designer. Despite the experience that he had, I am glad to be given a chance to stay a night at his house and talk over so many things.
I would love to share with you our discussion not just regarding the design trends, processes and implementation but also about life as a designer. It is really insightful and I will try to remember and practise the wisdom that he sent down to me. He is a legend!
