January Testing

January 10, 2008

Ever since the concept for CR04 was first conceived one area had split the team. Do we run a differential or a spool? There was only one way to settle the argument. A scheme was developed to modify the CR03B diff into a spool. So, over a series of cold January days the Cardiff Racing descended on a disused airfield to test the now spool equipped CR03B. Both driver feedback and lap times have shown the spool to be certainly equal if not better than the differential in terms of performance. As a result of this testing, CR04 will now designed for a spool based drivetrain.

Cardiff Racing is pleased to announce their latest sponsor, Alice Racing. Since the decision to switch to the Aprilia SXV550 engine for the 2008 entry, Cardiff Racing has scoured the world to find a suitable engine supplier. Stuart at Alice Racing has kindly helped the team source two SXV550 engines, along with associated components and provided considerable technical assistance.

Alice Racing was formed in 2002 with the sole intention of providing gifted young riders the facility to win using the very best bikes possible. These machines quickly became the standard by which others were judged. They were often copied, but never equalled. Aprilia SXV,s and new KTM SMR,s can be supplied to any race spec chosen by the customer, from a long list of options. Let Alice Racing build you the very ultimate racebike, either from scratch or to modify your existing bike. Everything they use and sell has been chosen or developed to improve on what it replaces, not just for the sake of change.
