Sheffield Malaysian Students Association or fondly known as SMSA was founded in 1987, a student-run national society registered under the University of Sheffield’s Student Union and also with the Malaysian Students Department in London. It acts as a platform for the voice of Malaysian students in the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, providing means of help to students.

Sheffield Malaysian Games 2009 is a sports event organized by Sheffield Malaysian Students Association (SMSA) from University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. This event gathered enormous number of participants and supporters, mainly Malaysian students across the UK and Ireland, promoting good spirits within the Malaysian community in the UK through sports event.
