The power of SHIFT button

Despite it’s position at the back flank of the keyboard does not mean that this button hasn’t got its usage. Personally, it helps me predefine straight line and angle. I’ll show you how it works.
How Shift button works:
- Making a straight line (Vertical and Horizontal)
To draw a straight line - Place your cursor at the position which you want you line should be. Hold you Shift key, click (left) and drag along. Once you have finished, Release your mouse first (unclick) and then the Shift button.
- 45° angle line (with the respect to x-axis/horizontal line)
Same procedure as above being used (as above) but all you need to do is to Hold the Shift button, Click your mouse, drag and release at 45° angle.
- Translation of images/text horizontal and vertical at fixed arbitrary point.
Using Move Tool (V): Select the layer containing image or text that you would like to move it. Press Shift button, and move it as you wish. You can even rotate images for (45° and 90° angles) using Free Transform tool (Ctrl + T).
- Resizing images at the same ratio

Most used Shift button purposes (personally). To resize an image: Select the image layer. Press Ctrl + T and you will find there will be 7 boxes and 1 circle indicators outside your image. Press Shift button and choose at any sharp edges of your image (90°) - refer picture above.
Remember to use these techniques in your image editing work or you will end up getting distorted images.
Well, that I believe that is all I can remember about the Shift button. Please share if you have any other usage of this button.
Good luck!

Among my other favs are:
Shft + Ctrl + N for a new blank layer,
Shft + Ctrl + E for merge all (visible),
Ctrl + Shft + I for inverse select (of marquee),
Shft + Alt + mouse drag to create an instant copy of current layer.
